Pics are from top to bottom, click on a pic for a larger pic, text for a pic is under the pic.....

OK, Ruby II looked like she came out of a mud puddle when I bought 'er...

I cleaned 'er up as best I could, and it took three Mothers Gold Cabana Wax and three wipes of Pledge, to get it decent, I even had to take the bag rails off to clean 'um, but I knew I had to do it when I bought 'er...

Two things were also trash, that I had to take care of... the pipes were completely trashed, spots all over and the front jug curve had burnt plastic all over it.. and what I thought were rust spots... and they might have been, were everywhere...

I seriously thought about getting new pipes as they were absolutely trashed....

I was at PGR ride to visit the Vets at VA Palo Alto, Ca on Sunday, 08/16/09 and while I was there, I talked to some folks...

As you know... you always check bikes out.. we all do it, we got to mine, and I explained that the pipes were trash.... one of 'um said, I know what will fix it!!! 0000 steel wool!! NOTHING less!

His friend said, it will cloud you chrome, you MUST use 0000 steel wool...

Now I don't remember when I bought it, but I had a complete new... 20 year old bag of 0000 steel wool in my work bench..... what the hey???????!!!!!!!!

0000 Steel Wool! On chrome it will do wonders! Out ($%&%!($% standing!!!!!!!!!!!

On the right of the muffler break steel wool, on the left the spotty trash crap...

A closer pic... Please remember... nothing would touch the stuff on the left! Polish, etc was useless... the 0000 took a few seconds and ... look at the right!

The shiny spot on the pipe out of the front jug was where the burned on trash was!!!

I am stinkingly amazed!!!!!! That damn stuff just cremated all the spots on the chrome!!!

I mean, it just ate it!!! OK, I spent a couple hours of elbow grease, BUT! I was looking at replacing the pipes... and, well, duh.... think I won on that bet and learned one hellova lesson!

Those pipes look right down gorgeous!!!!!

OK, my next challenge is the windshield, it is trashed also..... anyone got any clues on the plastic?.... OK, yes a new one... sigh.... GBG
