Pics are from top to bottom, text for a pic is under the pic, click on a pic for a much larger pic...

I have put out a suggestion by Ch.4 President to take an end of Summer multiple Chapter Ride-In to Alice's Restaurant. The scenic ride is worth it alone. The burgers are the best. A very Biker-Friendly Restaurant. The ride will take place sometime in October to hope we get a large turnout....drifter/Ch.5/CA.State Director

And a ride was on the books! GBG It's a really nice place, nestled in the big trees of Santa Cruz mountains and you have NO straight road option to get there.

Now the more adventurous of us will take short cuts through the hills and not know that it's Great Pumpkin day in Half Moon Bay! GBSEG!!!! .... more later...

I have to take my usual pic of Alice's and the bikes, today's weather was drop dead gorgeous! You could not have written a better weather forecast request! And the place was, as usual, packed...

Grumbler wanted to know if the deli was still across the street... well, like a good chicken, I HAD to cross the road, to see what was on the other side, why else would you cross a road!

Nice series of businesses...

Bikes everywhere...

Well, Grumbler, here it is! Still serving! Don't know if it's the one you remember, but a deli it is!

Hey! We don't live by bikes alone... A real nice Cobra and the pipes were in use...

A close up shot of Alice's and I liked the iron owl...

As I was sitting on the best seat in the house waiting for FCRC, my scoot, a pair of Drifters came along! The guy in back said "Hey! Another Vulcan!!" Of course we had to chat.. The bike in front had 1100 miles on it....... eleven hundred....... GEEZZ!!!!!!!!!!! They were gorgeous!

I sat 'til 1300 and said to myself........ #!$%)*!#$%!_ happened and went in for lunch... great pulled pork sandwich on toasted sourdough! Bit pricey, but it was a good sandwich and worth it for the pleasure of being there and in the most ideal weather!

Well about 1330, I put my helmet on and about to take off and in comes the bikes!!! Now I was shooting fast and furious and the bikes were moving... please forgive the blur... these folks were HUNGRY!!! GBG

As I said above, they took some "detours" and didn't know it was Great Pumpkin day in Half Moon Bay! You do NOT go into them hills during Great Pumpkin day! NO NO NO!

92 will be backed up bumper to bumper from 280 into Half Moon Bay! That does wonders for 35 / Skyline also! Add to that a great day and gazillion bikes on the road!

Here they come...

The center bike is Ken (Bikerboy) Salas and his Suzuki is gorgeous! That windshield is solid plastic.. his bike wins medals when he shows it.. It is black and you can just see right down into the paint, it's like a pool of black.. He has the rims painted a pumpkin orange. I've ridden many PGR missions with him, that's why I know who he is.

Bruce (Bigtwin) Rojo, a fellow VROC'r (Vulcan Riders and Owners Club), went on a ride with him to spread some ashes on the bluff over the Golden Gate Bridge... Battery Spencer...

The blog of the pics I have...

Think he has a 96 Vulcan with 105K miles on it. Sounds good and runs great!

Of course we had to chat with the Vulcan Drifters riders....

More coming in... I have no idea how many, but I'll have to guess around 30... They were going to go up 1 and through SF, Great Highway, I think... but going up 1 was NOT an option...

They were going east on 84.... that's the way I came up, never been on that road and today was the day to fix that! GBG

They were in for a treat! That road has NO straight part on it! It is a 20 to 35 mph road, many trees, gorgeous... but do NOT take it if in a hurry, especially on a weekend.. not gonna happen...

There will be an 'ol fart somewhere... cruzzin up the road ( read: me... ) and you'll just have to relax and enjoy the view! And that is not all bad!

Great day! Sorry the Great Pumpkin messed with plans.. but "pumpkins" happen! Got to say hi to Diceman, Drifter, Bruce and while there got to chat with a LOT of folks! It really is a nice place to hang out!

And there was the guy in the gas line on the 05 'nad, that Bruce and I chatted with.. he said we met and couldn't remember where... IT WAS AT ISLETON!!! The ride in! The memory, sigh.... + GBG

Thanks again for calling this ride! It may not have turned out like you thought, but it turned out! That's called riding a scoot! You go where you go, do what you do, and it turns out great!
